Meet one of our new Bus Drivers!!
My name is Robyn (Michael) Nutt. I grew up in the Kettle Falls area and graduated from Kettle Falls High School. After living in many places, I was ready to come home. I am excited to work for the school where I grew up and to once again be part of this community.

New Elementary Special Education Teacher!
Hi, my name is Ursula Christianson. I have worked in special education since 2004, mostly in Arizona. I began as a paraprofessional and earned my masters in Special Education at Grand Canyon University. I took a 5 year break from teaching, working with some of the best families ever at early head start in the area. Thanks to KFSD, I will be teaching students again in your STAR program!
My husband and I live in Inchelium and have 5 grown children, 1 in heaven and 10 grandchildren between the 2 of us. I look forward to working with students, parents and staff in Kettle Falls.

📚 Meet One of Our New Teachers!! 📚
Hello, my name is Allie Usher. I graduated from Kettle Falls HS in 2015 as a 12 year senior! I attended Washington State University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education, I later attended WGU where I earned my Masters in Secondary Biological Science education. This will be my 5th year teaching and I am so excited to be back in my hometown! My husband and I have two kids and we are excited to be raising them in such an amazing community! I look forward to growing the FFA program at the High School where I will be teaching Chemistry, Animal Science, Horticulture and Honors Biology!

Early mornings at the ELC consist of reading, sensory bins and a variety of other activities while we wait for the rest of our friends and teachers.

As many of you may have seen, Kettle Falls Elementary School is a very busy place this summer. As you may know, our elementary school has supported Kettle Falls families since the early 1950s. Most of the systems in the building are original, so they have been in place since then. We received 3 different grants from the State to help us bring the building’s systems up to current standards. We received is the State’s Urgent Repair Grant for $500,000. This grant is helping us to replumb the elementary school main building, so there will be no more concerns about lead in the drinking water. We received $5 million from a State program designed to support school construction in districts that house fewer than 1,000 students. That grant will help us update the school’s electrical service and distribution, HVAC, and windows. We also received a grant for $1 million funded by the State’s Climate Commitment Act. The Kettle Falls School District School Climate Plus Indoor Air Quality Project is supported with funding from Washington’s Climate Commitment Act. The CCA supports Washington’s climate action efforts by putting cap-and-invest dollars to work reducing climate pollution, creating jobs, and improving public health. Information about the CCA is available at www.climate.wa.gov. That grant is focused on the cooling and filtration side of the HVAC system.
We are excited to be able to update so many of our elementary school systems and are grateful to Washington State for supporting our schools and students through these kind of grant programs!!

Preschool Story Time Adventures at the Public Library!
Each week our preschoolers enjoy exciting story time adventures at the public library, each themed around a letter of the week. These sessions combine engaging storytelling with interactive activities, making each visit memorable.
V is for Volcano: A Science Surprise
As part of our letter V week, students made volcanoes erupt using baking soda and vinegar. The children were amazed as their homemade volcanoes bubbled and fizzed, bringing their stories to life with a thrilling scientific twist. This hands-on experiment introduced basic scientific concepts in a fun and accessible way.
Dancing with Scarves: A Musical Adventure
Another delightful activity was dancing with scarves. As our preschoolers sang familiar songs, they twirled and swayed with colorful scarves, expressing themselves freely and joyfully. This activity encouraged creativity, coordination, and a love for music and movement.
A Blend of Learning and Fun
These story time adventures beautifully combine education and entertainment, with each activity tailored to the letter of the week. The children expand their imaginations, explore new concepts, and enjoy the magic of books and interactive play.
Our story time adventures continue to spark curiosity and joy, making learning a truly exciting journey!
