Greg Mace, Assistant Principal at KFHS, recently visited KFMS to share the meaningful history behind the bell in front of the high school and the special significance of when it is rung. He spoke passionately about his cousin, Doug Lickfold, and the lasting impact Doug made at KFHS over 50 years ago. As Greg shared his story, a few staff members in the audience were moved to tears, reflecting on a time long past. Thank you, Mr. Mace, for helping us remember the deep significance of this tradition and for honoring the legacy that has shaped our school for generations.

6th graders worked on creating New Year’s resolutions last week. Using a One Word Resolution , students chose their word to remind them of their goal. After designing their words on paper they transferred them to shrinky-dink sheets and they were baked. The shrunken words will be attached to backpacks, keychains or crock shoes as fobs to remind them of their goal for the year!

Students in Mrs. Benner's class revisited their Classroom Agreements mid November to determine whether or not they needed to adjust or work harder on them. This activity helps with student ownership and builds a sense of belonging when all voices are heard.

Twenty five students stayed for the "Lock In" at KFMS last week. These students sold at least 29 items in the fund raiser and earned an opportunity to hang out at the school until 10pm. They spent their time in different activities with staff members. They enjoyed dodge ball, trivia, hot potato, cake walk, open gym, pizza, etc. Staff and students had a great time!!

Friday is the last day for the KFMS Book Fair! We're open until 2pm! Come support the school!

At the recent KFMS assembly, excitement filled the air as students eagerly awaited the main event, a dodgeball game between the students and teachers. A few lucky students were randomly chosen from the audience. Students were cheered on by their classmates as they battled against the teachers. The teachers enjoyed a friendly but competitive match. Laughter and playful banter filled the gym showing off school spirit and fun!

KFMS celebrated Halloween in style this year! Both staff and students got into the festive spirit by wearing creative costumes that showcased their personalities. The highlight of the celebration was the parade featuring the transitional kindergartners dressed as everything from superheroes to adorable animals. These little ones proudly marched through the school, bringing smiles and excitement to everyone!

KFMS just finished their annual fund raiser. Overall the students sold over 1,000 items that totaled $18,209. Our top seller was Camden Holford who sold over $2,500! Mrs. Edwards' advisory had the highest percentage of sellers and earned donuts. Twenty nine students sold 17 or more items to earn a Lock In Party where students get to stay late at school. Thank you to the students and community for supporting our school.

Water Walk
To practice empathy while reading A Long Walk To Water, the 7th graders walked a mile with a gallon of water. Some were able to maintain it on top of their heads for a while, and others found it challenging to hold the water comfortably the further they went in the walk. Only two managed to hold it on their heads for the entire mile!
